5+ stars!! Holy. Cow. What a wild ride! Once again, I laughed, I swooned and got misty eyed throughout the entire book. I swear the back and forth between emotions is enough to give you emotional whiplash. And I LOVE IT!!!! In addition to the normal cast of characters, Third Grave Dead Ahead included a whole motley of interesting characters. A missing wife, whose family is very worried, but is everyone being completely honest? A menacing blast-from-the-past…or two. A biker gang (rawr!). A Rottweiler named Artemis (aww!). A nun who eavesdrops on the angels. And the ghost of a little girl who just happens to be wielding a knife. Charley’s dad…*sigh of disgust*…I really liked him in the beginning despite his wife and her treatment of Charley, but man, he lost all brownie points with me! Uncle Bob…love him! ‘nuf said Cookie and Amber continue to be extremely bright spots in this series. Garrett…love him more with every book. (view spoiler) Reyes…I have a love/hate relationship with this character. I’d say a 95/5 split…He is so damn sexy and can be such a hero, but I swear he can turn into a douche-bag at the drop of a hat…thus the 5%. (view spoiler) In Third Grave Dead Ahead Charley finds out she is to have a Guardian against the forthcoming war/evil Hell will throw at her. Throughout a lot of the story you’re left wondering, along with Charley, who this Guardian will be. And the fact that someone has to die in order to be her Guardian was very unsettling. You can’t help but stress over who Ms. Jones is going to kill off in order to get this Guardian. The last 10% of the book was killer for me!!! So much happens in such a short period of time my head was spinning as I kept reaching for tissue after tissue. Yet I did not get the sense that the ending was rushed. From start to finish the story was fast-paced and chock full of information. Ongoing storylines ended and new ones began and I can’t wait for the continuation of the life and times of Charley Davidson!!! Couple of my favorite things from this story… (view spoiler)
