Loved this book. Really good.
Very interesting book, highlights class/relationship issues in NYC during the Wall Street boom of the 80's. I've never seen the movie, but want to, so I read the book first.
This first half of this book captivated me, shimmering in the Norwegian forest, set about 1944. It's characters have the feel of a Wallace Stegnar novel (Kel), not too sentimental with lots of images in the details. I read a recommendation somewhere, and then saw it again at the library. I opened the jacket and someone wrote on a post it, "dear reader, this is a terrific novel" and I was sold-very glad I didn't read the inside jacket cover so I could be delighted in how the story unfolds. My only criticism was that I wanted more of the plot lines expounded upon by the end, because this author isn't as good at waxing philosophical as Stegnar.
