Laurie R. King came to my library years ago. AWESOME! I was totally geeking out. I have read almost all of her books...and lurved them. This was the first, and the 1st sentence "I was 15 years old when I first met Sherlock Holmes, 15 years old with my nose in a book as I walked the Sussex downs, and nearly stepped on him." completely captured my imagination. You have to admire the nerve it takes to take an iconic character like Sherlock Holmes, and give him a 15 year old, female, apprentice. Thank heavens Laurie King did! And I keep reading it every couple of years
Really good historical account of the Civil Rights movement, with a well-reasoned argument placing the importance of grass-roots organization at the forefront.
