I just finished rereading the Harry Potter books in anticipation of book 7 and needed something to fill the time until July. Someone recommended this series and some people on Bookcrossing have actually said that they liked this better than HP, so thought I'd give them a try. Took me a while to get into the story. I did not find myself too engaged at first. I found the story somewhat... deeper, I guess, than Harry Potter. It looks like it's shaping up to pose some complicated questions. I am starting book 2 soon.
scott o'dell is problematic. but i loved the book when i was 11 or whatever.
I'm not quite done with it yet, but really am liking it. Would give it 5 stars, but was a little hard to get into the story in the beginning. That changed & I'm loving it. Will read Life Support next.
Depressing from beginning to end with a lot of awful in between.
This book was fine for the type of book it is. I found it easy to read and I didn't get bored but it wouldn't make me deliberately look out for more Rebus books.
