Just when I was about to give up this series entirely because the main character is so young and helpless seeming, she pulled a couple good moves at the end and I decided to trudge on toward the next book. This will never be a favorite of mine and probably not one I would readily recommend, but at least it is no longer dragging on and has become intriguing.
