this book is by far better than the first. Zoey's character begins to grow and you begin to see the plot for the rest of the series or at least the next couple books. if you read the first one and thought it was ok, then you'll like this one. i wasnt big on the first one, but i'm a sucker for a series so i have to see this one through.... The book is extremely one-sided, the author shows litte development in any other characters. you can only realize growth in 3 characters, 2 of which are not present for majority of the book. As for Zoey's friends, there isnt much you can see in the development of the characters. In this book, Zoey finaly begins to grow as a person and not be so insecure with herself. She beings to embrace her powers and her role as the leader of the Dark Daughters. now if only she would pick one boyfriend already.
So-so story that was no where as graphically awful as it could have been. While I don't usually like stories that are too intense, this one really needed that to keep it from turning into the predictable read it was. Totally disappointed me.
I saw that this got great reviews. I just thought it was boring. I guess I am not as gifted as I like to think and can't appreciate what everyone else manages to.
a great read to for those who are looking to add a little reading inspiration to their own family's routine.
