heart-warming, etc. story of a high school debate team from a mostly black inner city public school beating white private schools; underdogs, racism, the craziness that is high school debate--foucault, doomsday,etc.--(i had no idea); could have been shorter and clearer though. love the cover!
Lovely. Odd, interesting structure, little vignettes, often building up to a cute one-liner, but works beautifully overall. Quiet and domestic, populated by lively kids who are complex and naughty and quarrelsome and loved and loving. The dynamics of the sibling relationship rang really true and I enjoyed the dialogue. Had the whole family listening in the end.
...awesome thriller... I love this book...it makes you want to read more 2 see what's going to happen...but you don't want it to end...
