Honestly I was kind of disappointed with this book. It took way too long for me to get interested and, when it was kind of getting better it ended. There wasn't enough time put into the stuff that was going on in the book and the ending was too quick and anticlimactic.
** spoiler alert ** Holden's struggle to understand mortality and morality may be a great work in Literature but I have to say by end of the first chapter he had me bummed out with his constant "It made me depressed....I was getting depressed." I also had a hard time with all the heavy smoking and drinking for a 16yr old prep kid. Not to mention inviting a call-girl to his room. Not a light read, but definitely insightful.
