It was an interesting story line. I just found it depressing. I would not read it again nor would I recommend it.

This is one of the best Coben books I have read; while all of his books I found to be easy to read in a day because of the constant surprises and suspense that make you say to yourself "okay, one more chapter" over and over, this one actually was more realistic than most of his books-----some of his others involved Bruce Willis-type-movie escapes every other page that left me slightly annoyed because it just kept me from taking the book as seriously as I would have liked to. But as far as this book, all in all, I really, really enjoyed this one.

This book was recommended by an acquaintance, something to get me in the mood for Hawaii, and thus not at all the sort of thing I normally read. It reads like what it is - "humourous" fiction written by a middle-aged man with unchecked sexist and heterosexist tendencies. (And crappy character development, as another reviewer said.) Imagine my surprise when I got completely sucked in by the second half. The surreal sci-fi stuff nearly pushed my rating to 4 stars.

I read it when I was 11 or 12. I started reading at 8 P.M. I finished it at 3 A.M. I cried till 5 A.M. I slept till 12 P.M. of the next day ;)
