Apalagi sayap-nya itu lho, sampe rusak gitu huh Uram!!, untung dia udah mati:)(go Raphael!), sedih juga pas liat Elena udah mau mati gitu terus dia bilang sama Raphael "Kalau aku mati jangan pernah buat aku jadi vampir", duh bingung-lah saya, jadi Elena mati dong? Baca aja sendiri ya, dijamin penasaran abis^,^ ngak nyangka juga sih Raphael sampe nunggu 1 tahun, bayangkan coba? kalo gue jadi Raphael aku ngak bakal tahan, hampa banget rasa-nya hidup.. Pokok-nya buku ini top abis hehehe, meski cover-nya melenceng dari gambaran aku, gakpapalah, yang penting cerita-nya, untuk cover-nya aku selalu bayangin Raphael di imagine aja ngak usah liat cover-nya:P-__-, pokok-nya two thumbs for this book^,^:)) Krn buku ini membuat aku begitu mudah-nya mengatakan "Bye-bye Vampire and Welcome Angel" hehehehe:)

Flippin heck I was so not expecting the story to go there -wow woww and wow Please bear in mind that this is the second book in the series and therefore the review may contain spoilers for the first book. I loved, loved, loved the first book Forsaken (review here) so I was really excited to get the second book, much squeeing ensued as I ripped open the envelope. Set in the not so distant future with the kind of economic collapse that is terrifyingly realistic. These books are like a dystopian supernatural cupcake with urban fantasy sprinkles, ready to be devoured in a single bite. I adore Riley's narrative voice, her snarky take on realism is pretty much along the same lines as the way my mind works (lol). There is a nice recap of the main events of the first book in the beginning allowing the imagination to drop straight back into Riley's world. The third person narration allows for alternate points of view keeping the multi-level plot under control. There are still a lot of questions regarding certain characters, the way in which the story unfolded was truly surprising. Hints and misdirection are placed within the plot, it certainly kept me on my toes. I was surprised that Beck is only 22, he seems so much older with everything he has experienced; my heart really goes out to him. The direction Simon's character took was staggering. Help for Riley comes from some unexpected places. There are hidden depths to the characters, there is truly ingenious character development within this book even if some were not what I would have wanted. I especially liked the way in which Riley's school friend Peter developed in this book and the introduction of technology as an aid to the trappers was really down to him <3 Clever use of a Macbeth quotation made me question my perception of events. The incorporation of the theory that Lucifer is testing 'man's love of God' and that the demons increase in proportion to the population was really interesting and added depth to the story. The way in which the plot developed toward the end of the book has left me slightly confused as to Riley's role in the battle between good and evil. The questions that need answering are just how important is Riley to the world and why. Shades of Armageddon are hinted at within the narrative, what is Riley's role in it??? Mystery, romance, the battle of good versus evil, dynamic action and thrilling tension. This book has it all.

What’s a secret don’t really stay a secret once people find out. Well a girl in the book Secret Society finds that out in this book. This book ad a lot going on like lies being told, secrets about sex and the drama is crazy. Some girls named Celess and Tina would tell lies left and right. They would tell men that they were woman when they are really men. The two girls (men) would also lie about what they do for a living and anything else they can lie about. They had so many secrets that people didn’t really no what to believe. Celess and Tina would have sex with other men but the way they would have sex he men wouldn’t never know nothing. They would be only ones to know. The drama would be very crazy. After awhile one of the men end up finding out there secret. He had stop messing with Celess and told his friend who messed with Tina. The guy who was messing with Tina ends up going to jail then he got out and shot both of the girls. Tina ends up dieing. When people find out about your secrets you don’t know what they would do. I really enjoyed reading the book. The lies were crazy. The sex was out of control and the drama was undefined. Pick up Secret Society you will like it.

I have this book memorized! I had to choose one book to act out in a storytelling class and I chose "The Giving Tree" because it is so vivid. I still act it out for kids during storytimes about friendship and trees.

The author captured perfectly the character and flavor of every small town diner across the country. From the "locals" that show up everyday to the waitresses, I found myself transported to a place such as the Majestic in Midtown Atlanta. I kept thinking that the only thing missing was a description of someone stubbing out their cigarette in leftover eggs or cold grits and then, about halfway through, there it was. Perfect!
