I read this kids version of this book (if there is an adult version around) but this book had its suspense and good plot flow that kept me on continuous reading pace. But i think the end was kind of "bleh" because i feel like the ending didn't leave up to the building suspense you get from the beginning for the story. But never the less a good book for kids :)

I would rather have read a cookbook on making cookies. This book didn't seem so smart.

I really loved the first Baby Whisperer book. (So much so, that during the first 3 weeks of the kiddo's life, I tried to track down Tracy Hogg to hire her, but discovered that she was dead.) This one is more of the same, but in greater depth, and covering a wider range of ages/problems. She's not for everybody, and not all of her solutions are solutions for everybody (even for her fans), but she has a steady, reassuring, common-sense voice. Her years of experience (as what--a nannny? a visiting nurse? a baby counselor?) help me believe what she says, and trust her generalizations about babies. For those looking to implement routines, understand their babies' tempraments, or handle major transitions (breaking bad sleep habits, potty-training, etc.), she is a good voice to have in your ear, even if you choose another path.

I really liked this book up until the very end. It left one of the main characters hanging, which, I guess means that the author plans for another book to follow. I hope so.

If I stopped after the first third - this book would have gotten 5 stars. I loved it until that point, then got to the hump where the more I read, the more I wished it would end. It stared out so descriptive, I could place myself there - then sputtered out halfway thru. Although, I suppose thats what happenes when you grow up, you can remember every detail when you are young, then the days just start to blend into a messy lump.
