Bu kitap mükemmel. Herkese tavsiye ederim. Filmi izlemekten korkuyorum.
read this while traveling in china. i love learning history through books, and this left a lasting impression on what i've learned about china since.
This a great book...for married men. If you're single, there's other things that are more worth your time.
The book summary does an excellent job. The book delivers everything its summary offers and then some. I really liked Kate's character. You can see that her mother's illness has both damaged her a little and has brought out her inner strength. Kate is one of those people that always tries to do the right thing, and she's never really terribly tempted to do otherwise. She may consider it briefly, but she almost immediately moves towards the moral choice. If there's one girl I'm okay with possibly becoming a Greek deity, it's Kate. The rest of the characters are entertaining, but I think that with the exception of Henry they generally lack Kate's multidimensionality. Still, this is just the first book, so I'm not worried at this point. I've seen a few other reviewers remark that Henry is just Bryonic enough, and I completely agree. He's brooding without taking it to the excessive, annoying place. Perfect! Also, there’s just enough Greek mythology for the allusions to stick, but not so much that it’s overbearing. While I enjoyed this book, I wasn't amazingly thrilled with the ending. The ending fits the feel of the story nicely, but the test itself is fraught with misdirection. The revelation of what precisely was going on felt a smudge rushed to me and left me feeling a little tricked (and regular readers will know how much I dislike feeling like a book tricked me). But that's strictly a personal taste issue. Rating: 4-- I liked this set-up and can't wait to see where Carter is going to take these characters next. I will be reading the sequel Other Tangential Thoughts: I'm really enjoying this new Greek myth trend! The Book Smugglers did a post the other day about all of the new myth-based books that are coming out right now. And according to GoodReads, this book is the first in a trilogy. I received this book from Netgalley (thank you!)
