Tavsiye edilmez.

I don't look into romantic novels or shoujo manga much because, really, I'm not a romantic person. So when a friend of mine recommended the anime for Ouran High School Host Club, I didn't think I would like it. Instead, I look a great fondness to the series. So I decided to look at the manga. In comparison to the anime, I didn't care too much for the art. I'm hoping that Hatori's art style will improve as I make my way through the series. There were some frames where I questioned her consistency, but overall, I think that the manga's art was good enough not to get too distracted by it. I rather enjoyed the full body frames rather than the close-ups and chibi attempts. The characters and story so far are interesting, at best. I can't see myself latching onto any character in particular in the early chapters even though I had a favorite for the anime. The plot doesn't really seem like it's going anywhere. I'm hoping that there will be more serious things to come later on in the series. So, after all of the negative comments, why am I giving Ouran volume one a four out of five? Really, it's because I couldn't put it down. Despite not having a solid plot and the strange art, I'm rather enjoying the read. I know that the series won't stay that way, but it's nice to see the first few chapters of something just push characters and, really, nothing else.

LOVE Yes, I downloaded this for free, but after reading it I felt like I robbed the author! It was just so good! The story is super fast paced and we get to the time travel part pretty fast. There are Italian knights (good looking ones!), there is romance (a lot!), there are tons of funny moments, plenty of historical facts, ow and of course an amazing heroine (move over Katniss!) I could not stop reading and up to the end it left me guessing what would happen. This book is sometimes classified as Christian fiction, but don't let that stop you from picking this up. As a non-religious person I always wonder why people would convert themselves to a religion at a later age. This is slightly touched upon in the book and I found it very interesting. Whereas in The Girl of Fire and Thorns I had a hard time connecting to the religious parts of the story, in Waterfall it plays only a minor part and it just makes sense. My only annoyance with books (and movies too by way) that are set in a foreign country is the language. As a reader we are supposed to believe that Gabi (an American teen) not only speaks fluent Italian, but is also able to switch fairly easily to the more archaic way of speaking. And can somebody explain to me why this book is called "Waterfall"? Did I miss something here? I am pretty sure this review is not doing the book any justice. I can only recommend everybody to read this and I am sure you won't be disappointed. I already got myself a copy of Cascade, the second book in the series, and I hope to read this one soon. Torrent will be released on the first of September, so I won't have to wait too long for that one either! If the other books are just as good as this one, this will be a serious contender of becoming one of my favorite series EVER!
