One of my favourite classics and Elizabeth Benett ,my favourite literary character.I would like to add it in my collections some day!!!.
** spoiler alert ** This book probably rates better than 2 stars, but I do not get it. I don't understand why the narrator seemed so flat, and offered so much tedious detail. I don't understand why the students were so docile always, with barely a ripple, apparently, in more than half a century of slavery and no apparent means of violence being used on them. I don't understand the lack of questioning of their state. This book is weird and didn't make sense to me.
It's a classic. What else can I say? Some of the images in this book have stuck with me over the years.
