This book is good, rigorous, and unique (a fictional lecture on animals) but is excerpted from Coetzee's novel "Elizabeth Costello" which is AMAZING. Read that instead. It IS interesting to note, however, that Coetzee has submitted this work of fiction when asked to give lectures. What is that all about? Is this book actually about animals? Or is it about lectures, and literature, and other stuff?
