I used to loathe Lance Armstrong, because I just couldn't see past his arrogance & aggression. This book had me coming out in goose-bumps at times & tears at others. Inspiring & awesome are over-used words but I found his determination to beat his Cancer & then to be the best in the world in what is my favourite sporting event, Le Tour De France, has inspired me to fight whatever might come my way. I would have preferred the book to have ended sooner as I struggled toward the end, hence the 4 stars, not 5. I will buy this book so that I can lend it to as many people as I can.
the marley and me for cat lovers, and book lovers alike a very sweet story, of a lost kitty who finds a happy home in a mid west library. a very good book.
To this day still one of my alltime fav books to read...i have read this book over and over again and i still would read it again!
Not as good as Angela's Ashes, mostly because what seemed okay for McCourt to talk about from his childhood seems somehow too personal or disturbing (at points anyway) from his 20s. Nonetheless, he has a poignant humor that is irresistible and tragically human.
