a really great book for understanding life in Cuba for a child during the revolution. it gave me more of an appreciation for what my father and grandparents experienced during that tumultuous time.
I loved this book. A quick read, suspenseful and different. It kind of reminded me of the Hunger Games, such a different world. I can't wait for the next book!
Our girls love the Charlie and Lola series on TV, so when they pick out one of the Charlie and Lola books, I put on my best English accent and try to mimic their voices. These stories are so much fun that you hardly think about the fact that they are also fun and silly ways to end the nighttime or, in the case of the book I Will Never Not Ever Eat a Tomato, dinnertime fights.
