I though I will enjoy this book a lot more I actually did. Any Man Of Mine has all the things need for it to be a good read: a smoking hot hockey player, intellectual working woman and I always loved unrequited love goes requited theme, but somewhere along these lines something went wrong. For me the beginning was really slow. I just sat in my reading spot ( yes, I have one) rolling my eyes and begging for something to happen. Moreover, I am sorry, but Autumn was annoying. She kept behaving like the biggest victim in the world. I was OK with that the first 100 pages after that ... toughen up girl! I understood that she wanted him to change, but how could she expect him to change if she does not want to give him the chance? And even after she saw he was different, more mature she did not believed him?! And the final was a bit too fast. Autumn was from " I can't forgive him. I can't" to "Deep inside I forgave you a long time ago" in a matter of seconds. And somebody call the book police 'cause someone seem to have ripped that particular pages off the book since I did not read anything of the sort. But after reading some more of Ms. Gibson's books I see that is the way she writes all the books, so I guess it's just her style. I do not want to leave this review with only negative comments on the book, so here are the things I like : - Conner and his pajamas - The way every chapter started with Any Man of Mine : Fits into my Life, Isn’t Ninety Percent Testosterone, Likes Muffins, Thinks I’m Hot in the Morning ( My personal favorite) - I liked the way Sam gradually finds he things he loves in Autumn and the way they find each other all over again. - The smoking hot scenes.
