This picture book biography of Charles Darwin is a great introduction to the man for grade-schoolers. It gives an overview of his life and studies and includes quotes from some of his letters and notebooks. Woodcut illustrations are painted with watercolors.
I always enjoy Malcolm Gladwell, but my mind glazes over with the financial articles. It's all important, and someone should have done something, but my mind won't go there. I blame Reagan for deregulation--but that's probably simplistic. All in all, a very interesting book--some pieces more interesting than others. My recommendation is to feel free to skip if something doesn't grab you.
