This was a great short read about a poor family told through the eyes of a girl. She describes the constant moves in and out of homelessness as she and her family constantly move around the dusty rusty west, awaiting the illusory Glass Castle that her father promises her. However, father could not hold down a job and was frequently avoiding the law. The narrator basically struggled with her parents inadequacies but managed to see the silver lining in their troubles.
Volumen 4. I only gave it 3 stars because the story didn't progress very much. At times I was on edge of seat but other times I couldn't wait for something to move the plot along. Also I missed more details of what was going on in other nations. I did like the ending and am ready to carry on to number five.
read this when i first moved to Chicago and have read it two more times. more of a study but super read
sort of dense, very pretentious, but endlessly fascinating.
