I really enjoyed this second book of this series. The author threw a bit of action and sorrow into this second book, and I have to admit I cried a tiny bit -- which makes it an all-around emotional experience. I loved it!! Despite some language and suggestive stuff, this is a really good book. Can't wait to read the next one!! (Although I've taken a look at the next book cover and they seem to be getting progressively cheesier, but I'm sure it doesn't reflect what's inside -- what do they say about not judging a book???)
Really enjoyed this book and will definitely read more from Paolo Bacigalupi. Only thing that kept it down to a 4 star was the sort of slow start. It took a while to really get going and get me into the book. Once it got going I was pretty enthralled.
I wanted to hate this book. I kept thinking about Oprah, and sappy women's book club crap. But I got sucked in nonetheless and read it in one sitting...did I mention it's quite often laugh out loud funny?
