Eh. It was fine. Maybe I'll like it more if I read it again in twenty years or after having suffered some kind of loss. I found the narrator's self-pity - though understandable, to be sure - to be tiresome and self-involved, and the story of her life with her late husband just too idyllic. But it was fun reading about the food, and I liked the Charlotte subplot: she seemed like an interesting character.
