I read this because I'm looking for another lit circle option with Lord of the Flies and A Separate Peace. Not sure I could use this in my classroom for anything other than an reading list for independent options, but I really did enjoy the narrator's journey toward self-acceptance and inner strength.
Great debut novel by Lisa Bork, was nominated for an Agatha and deservedly so. Jolene Asdale is a likeable character, flaws and all. Looking forward to reading other books in this series.
