This was by far the quickest time in which I had finished a novel, This novel was very hard to put down. The author has a very gripping narrative that never looses focus or the suspense... The determination of a kid, the guiltiness of a cop, the selfish people who take opportunities at other's miseries, the author has clearly made me relate to all these characters here. This novel was more then a murder mystery, it had an effective & moving story. Even though the plot was quite simple & straight forward, its the treatment meted out to the various characters in the novel that makes it even more alluring.. On the whole, am simply satisfied & would love to read the other works of this author soon :)
It's my War and Peace: I will finish it!
This is a collection of all of Ada Louise Huxtable's critical writings for the Wall Street Journal and the New York Times over the decades between the 60's and today. It is not her best book, but it certainly is informative and provides a window to students of architecture on the modern and post modern periods in Neew York and throughout the world. Huxtable is quite discerning in being able to differentiate between what is good and lasting and what is faddish and will pass from the scene. She is egalitarian in her treatment of the outstanding and the horrendous. Her writings are, as far a I am concerned, required reading for anyone serious about the study of structural design and planning and the high art of architecture.
This is a cute book--it's written in four voices, from the views of four different sixth/seventh grader girls who are going through the trials of being popular and unpopular and trying to figure out who they are or want to be.
