Though the opening is a little creepy (Jack the assassin leaves the house with a sharp knife that is wet, but the toddler has crawled away towards the graveyard), there is a lot of humor, learning, growing up, and suspense. Each chapter had Bod learning something from being raised by ghosts.
I HATED THIS BOOK. It makes me mad that it's on my bookshelf. I couldn't finish it.
Quick, breezy, accessible, transporting - but I wonder how much an American woman can really understand India after only a few brief trips.
