The best in the series so far, Pelevin manages to recreate a mood that had been lost in translation and dulled by age. Twisty and cerebral, Helmet of Horror was and is frightening and immersive.
This book scared the heck out of me from joining my parent's church in Washington, DC. So..it took me almost 20 years to get the courage to join a church and I did last year at Abyssinian Baptist Church. I was not even raised Baptist but Methodist .. however, I do not see much of a difference. Great read!
Another hilarious installment from James Lileks, this book looks at all the bad advice that seemed prevalent in the 50s and marvels that we even made it out alive. Not as funny as The Gallery of Regretable Food, but well worth reading if only to marvel at the advice itself.
it prepares you to start your own business
This is a powerful book. McCarthy is a master at using the English language. I found myself getting a little teary toward the end. Totally brilliant read.
