Lily & Rule are engaged and sort of planning their wedding. Sort of, cause Lily keeps putting off her mother, who is trying to organise it. Cullen & Cynna's Baby Party at Clanhome is a joyous occasion until someone almost kills Cullen, right in front of everyone. But everyone has a different story. The baddie turns out to be a very old enemy of Grandmother Yu's, The Chimei and her Sorcerer. The Chimei & the Dragons have a Treaty going back to the Great War, 3 thousand years ago. So Sam can't do anything, and neither can Grandmother, and even Lily is somewhat restrained by the geas. Cullen was attacked first because he is a threat to the Chimei's vengeance against Grandmother. But he is only the first in the Chimei's plans. Isen, Rule's father, and Rho of the Nikolai pack declares War against the Chimei and the battle begins. This is such a great story arc. Lily & Rule seem to grow a little in each book and the world building is great.
