Interesting, well written, but rather quiet about a topic rarely addressed--the fate of Germans in the eastern part of the country taken over by the Soviets. Glad to see this ground broken.
Tattoo was an ok book. I found out about it through my friends who thought it was a really good book. It was predictable and the transitions were choppy.
