I love James Rollins' Sigma Force, but man, are they hard to summarize! In this one, the discovery of Native American mummies in a hidden cave guarding "treasure" sets off a chain of events that has the possibility of being a cataclysmic event. Chasing down the story behind the cause behind the destruction will have Sigma exploring all over the US and Iceland. While trying to stop this threat, they are also still trying to get to discover who is the shadowy leadership behind the Guild - the organization that is constantly getting in there way. Unfortunately, they are going to find that the Guild's origins trace all the way back to the founding of America and are still in powerful places. I love how Rollins always blends together modern-day mysteries with historical facts. I also like that he always does a Fact and Fiction section at the end so that the reader knows where the line between the two is. (I must confess now though that I find myself a bit concerned about a possible Yellowstone supervolcano eruption!)

My daughter Heather absolutely loves this book. The only downside is the girl doesn't like yucky green foods, but with a bit of clever editing my kid is none the wiser.
