Ruth Ozeki is very smart and incredibly funny. I think I like My Year of Meats even better than her second book.
Beautifully written, lyrical book. Almost like reading poetry, such is the way he writes. And the story of a woman's life, leaving Ireland for America and then her life there until the time of writing (she's 89) is perfectly placed. Thoroughly recommended. I would rather Sense of An Ending by Julian Barnes won the Booker Prize but if this won instead, I wouldn't be upset.
