This is one of my daughter Charlotte's favourite books. It was a gift from her grandmother, though no one in the family can now agree on for what occasion it was that she got it. The story here is that an elephant named Trumpety-Humpety feels bad that his nose is stuffed up. When his animal friends help him finally sneeze, he feels all better. It's 5 rhyming pages, which are easy and fun to rattle off. Sheryl Bone's illustrations are crisp and bright, and truly draw the child's eye. The book itself is roughly 3 x 6 inches, with the thickest, sturdiest board pages I've seen in a book. Instead of a cardboard binding, it has a glued fabric binding. It's held up for quite a while now already, and seems like it will for quite some time, still. The board itself must actually be some kind of wood. It doesn't bend in the least. It's because of these features that it has an extra added appeal to Charlotte. When she slaps the pages together she gets a nice loud CRACK, that makes her smile and giggle. My only complaint about the book is that until today, when I searched the ISBN here on Goodreads, I had no idea that the title of the book was Elephant. It doesn't appear on the book anywhere. That might make it hard to find if you're looking to pick it up in a brick-and-mortar store. If you're going to get this book for your child, and I highly recommend you do, I'd say using the ISBN to pick it up on Amazon or another online retailer would be the easiest method. 5/5

Though the next two in the series aren't as good (I've made my point elsewhere about my views on sexual immorality and killing off of main characters), this first one is pretty neat. A complicated world and fully realized cultures and histories. The characters are complex and the main plot, though used (bad person trying to take over world), is portrayed in a new way (girl bady guy) and with new motives and creatures. The prophecy almost creates more confusion than help, and it's fulfilled in an interesting way (actually, that's one part that I admire without liking).

I Loved The Story & The Way It Played Out. I Enjoied This Book Couldn't Put it Down To know Wat Was Going To Happen Next.
