Jace, who has suffered at the hands of his abusive father, struggles with his own displays of similar behavior. There is the frustration of the mother not leaving her abuser even when she has the chance. The older brother, who has changed his name and created a new life of his own, must now struggle with trying to help his brother and mother without getting pulled back into the dysfunction and danger.
