Brilliant. But I still find an ethics based entirely from utility a little hard to swallow. Not that I can find a significant hole in the argument here...
I liked The House in the Night. I thought it was very nice and sweet. And the illustrations are very nice. But Caldecott worthy? Well, it wouldn't have been my pick. Still, just because I wouldn't have given it the award doesn't make it a bad book.
Still the best fantasy trilogy period.
