I enjoyed Eldest so much more than Eragon. However, I found it boring at times. To me it seemed he dwelled on unimportant things toooooo long, which caused me to lose interest.

first thought: why would anyone name their child Teacup? after reading this book and reading the protagonist's progression from one husband to the next and finding herself and love.. i wished to be that lucky. i liked this book because of its feminist feel.

I was really disappointed with this book...also, I'm really surprised I was able to finish it. I lost interest half way thru and kept trying to convince myself it would get better...unfortunately that didn't happen. The main character in this book is given knowledge of the power of spices and is sent to help people via an Indian market. As the book goes on, however, she breaks all of the rules she promised to abide due to her emotional weakness, but somehow ends up living happily ever after with her American lover. The book is also contradictory. The spices warn her that if she breaks the rules great tragedy will befall whomever she is trying to help...that doesn't really happen. All of her charges' stories end up being wrapped up in a neat little bow... Stick to Sister of My Heart and Palace of Illusions, this book is only good for learning about spices.
