This series was recommended to me by many, many people...and I can see why. I was hooked within a dozen pages. Political intrigue, excellent characters, familiar-yet-fresh settings. Nothing but win.

For Dr. David Beck, the loss was shattering. Andy every day for the past eight years, he has relived the horror of what happended. The gleaming lake. The pale moonlight. The piercing screams. The night his wife was taken. The last night he saw her alive. Everyone tells him it's time to move on, to forget that past once and for all. But for David Beck, there can be no closure. A message has appeared on his computer, a phrase only he and his dead wife know. Suddenly Beck is taunted with the impossible-that somewhere, somehow, his wife is alive...and he's been warned to tell no one." A great mystery/thriller...a page turner really!

This book was a complete page turner. I found it very difficult to put it down, especially since it was a true story. A perfect story for the season. VERY Heart-warming.

The book is just what it presents itself as; A microhistory of Pickett's Charge at the Battle of Gettysburg. It was superb but I expect that only people who are interested in the Civil War and/or military and/or American history enthusiasts would really enjoy it.

i remember being thirteen and going, "is this for real?"
