I fell in love with the character Tree Ear who was so compassionate, just wanted to be cared and loved and to love in return. He was hungry yet he saved half of his meager food for poor crippled Crane Man who was like a father to him. I have read the book twice and once again I held my breath when the robbers attacked Tree Ear in the mountains. But I'll not say more. Authors sometimes have hard time ending a book and do it very rapidly and you think well, what just happened. This book had a perfect ending, not happy yet nottruely sad. How I laughed. It is such a whirlwind of common sense and dispenses wisdom in such a great fashion. I think any young women who needs to sort out her finances and her life will find this book indispensible. It has the best line about size zero ever!
