I re-read this for a book discussion group, and once again was blown away by the beauty of the language and the emotions the book as a whole produced. (Yep, I cried *yet again* even knowing the ending! Sigh.) I love the characters, and enjoy the attitude of the narrator Death, and how he punches you in the gut with a casually dropped foreshadowing. It's just a gorgeous book. I am anticipating and yet dreading going to see the movie version of it, because it will be so different from my internal version. Yet it looks like it will be a fabulous film in its own right.
honestly, i didn't get it (i was 13), at yet i still think about it surprisingly often. should read it again.
I hate to not finish a book but I just could not get into this one....
