I loved " a heartbreaking work...", so this was a bit of a let down. I like the style of writing, but the story didn't really go anywhere. it was "literature".
Mattie has always lived a normal life. But when the fever strikes, her world is turned upside down. It starts with her long time friend and worker at her family's cafe, Polly. Polly is the first death, but soon there will be many more. Mattie must learn to be brave, to let go, and most importantly, navigate her way through a world with disease lurking everywhere. This book is amazing, and I recommend to anyone who wants a good read.
