I read this and it was alright. I watched the movie, and the snape man from Harry Potter was in it and I stopped watching it. The only other movie I can tolerate him being in besides Harry Potter is Love Actually. That is it.

This story of a young rancher's journey into manhood South of the border is passionate, adventuresome, violent, suspenseful, romantic, bleak, hard, cruel, funny, pastoral, political, lyrical -- it gathers up a broad range of human experience and presents it in language that is spare, vivid, and beautiful. That's a lot of adjectives, I know.
Can't remember when I first read this book and its companion "Foetal Attraction" but I've re-read them whenever I needed a bit of cheering up! Kathy Lette is known as The Master of Tongue-Fu - a right rollicking read!
