Even though I've read it every night for the last three months, I still enjoy it. Great illustrations!
Very creative. This book was almost dystopian. It is set in the unspecified future, approx 100 years in the future. Magical "waves" sweep over the earth and knock out technology, feeding on concrete and plastic. Sometimes "tech" is in control, but usually magic reigns. This leads to some interesting quirks in the society, such as the main character Kate having two cars, one that runs on gas, one that runs on magic and water. Vampires are like evil puppets that are controlled remotely by necromancers. Werewolves are victims of Lyc-V, a highly contagious virus. I would have liked more description closer to the beginning about what exactly was going on in the world Andrews created. It was hard to understand the plot in the beginning with so little information. Also, Andrews is pretty vague about how society actually functions.
