The audio version was fun, with different voices for each of the characters. I liked the letter format and enjoyed the light story line (plus it was fun to get the Charles Lamb references).
I loved this book when I read it the first time, and then I read it again in college and understood it. This is a beautiful allegory in the tradition of Pilgrim's Progress. In it, little Much Afraid travels to the high places with the companions chosen for her by the good shepherd--Sorrow and Suffering. The journey is long, and the price high...but ultimately in surrendering herself she becomes Grace and Glory. It's hard to encapsulate in one sgort paragraph, but I probably need to read it again. I loaned my copy to a friend years ago when she was travelling with sorrow and suffering for a time.
