I love Tami Hoag, but this is not my favorite series. Maybe its the '80's angle which I was in my teens for (and can't get over the imagery: clothes, hair, etc.) But I really can't stand Anne--granted she's been through a lot but she's so annoying. Plus, how many times can a person be stabbed in one week?! There were some interesting pop cultural references, but it felt like they were all stuck in in bunches so we would know the research was done. Just didn't do anything for me, but I like to finish a series and I did like Tony--so hopefully, the last book is about him. Enough of Anne and her annoying husband.
I am about to give up on this book. There are no paragraphs. it is written in a poetic way, with sentences moving onto a second line halfway through. I have to concentrate very hard on the punctuation and flow to follow the story. The book is also not funny or clever which I really like in book ready. Its more dark, graphic, and haunting. I guess I should have figured that out from the cover but the cover grabbed me.
