this series is a barrel of laughs... the characters are so quirky and fun. yes, the books are mindless and predictable, but sometimes that is what it is all about! like watching the OC.
Hosseini shows that he was not a one-hit wonder with The Kite Runner. A Thousand Splendid Suns follows the lives of two women in Afghanistan. The book touches upon male-dominated culture, oppression, betrayal, repentance, and love. Hosseini touches upon these themes without having to slam them over the reader's head. Beautiful prose, complex characters and a riveting story make this a must-read.
