Great book. Seems like a great book for a book club, I've been talking about the book nonstop for the past 10 days but nobody has read it. Very clever concept for a book--mostly a dark book, sometimes hard to read, but fascinating. If it weren't borrowed from the library I would have left 20-30 highlighted lines in it. So many great lines, thoughts and quotes. I've always been intrigued by movies or books involving "each man on his own" or survival/end of the world scenarios. Age old question of what do people do when you take away societal norms, money, and infrastructure. How do they act? how long before people turn on each other, steal, sell out or die from not adapting? Not surprised this won a Nobel Prize, some brilliant writing and interesting technique. There wasn't a single person's name throughout. everyone had a title. The doctor, the doctor's wife, the squinty eyed boy, and so on. Clever.
