While not my favorite of King's stories, this one still gets to me even after a second reading. I like Lisey, I really do.
This book was written by a Mexican shaman or nagual, Don Miguel Ruiz. He is also a doctor. In clear language he presents the wisdom of the ancient Toltecs. It is a spiritual guide of self awareness.
I absolutely love this book! It is one of the few books that I go back periodically and re-read.
I am in love with this series already :) Love the time period, the characters, the romance, and the drama :)
I waited several months after reading "the Book Thief" before I read this, because I hadn't really expected anything too great. But I was completely enthralled by every word. I'm not going to say it doesn't have its sappy moments, but I loved it. And any minor annoyances I may have harbored were completely overriden by the sheer awesomeness that is Zusak's writing. His style is amazing. And the complete ordinariness that is Ed compounded by the way we can ALL relate to him is simply...marvelous (hehe). I am in love with this book. I'm considering buying copies of it to send to all my friends...a message ;) was that too corny? yeah. it was. But I really do think I'm going to send it to people.
