Interesting look at the political climate surrounding Jesus' crucifixion. It focuses more on Jesus' political aims; essentially, freeing the poor from an unequal and unjust social situation, than on any religious dogma.

This was so real for anyone going through a relationship crisis. Picked it up because I identified with someone who is at a life crossroads at 40 with no children. So interesting that her marketing career was so successful and then she ditched it for the Police Academy. Very diverse topics, so good for our book club. Will check out her other books now.
It's a little disturbing that most (if not all) reviews of this book are by women and/or recommended to women and girls. I have just read it, and enjoyed it immensely. It can be a little sentimental in parts, but overall it is a great holiday read, especially if you are a NY-phile like myself. The author paints a great picture of Brooklyn life early last century. Definitely a classic.
