When I had about a quarter left to read I stayed up till 5 am to finish this novel - it just kept getting 'curiouser and curiouser"! A fascinating example of spinning a plot with fascinating twists and beautiful literary landscape on the way. If you are an early Mideaval history buff you'll appreciate it even more, being able to sense all the layers and allusions.
