The first chapter of this book talks about why John Cusack is to blame for the downfall of modern relationships and I thought to myself, "I love this already." But by the time I was finished my opinion had changed a little. Each section is witty and ingenious in its own way. Klosterman has a lot of original ideas, but can sometimes be a little long-winded in expressing. Each chapter was a few pages too long and by the end, it began to feel like he really liked to hear himself talk. And I was sort of tired of listening. Still a quick, entertaining read, easy to skim and probably worth it.
Yeah, it's pretty sweet. Thought the ending was bullshit, but whatever.
This is not a great book although it is interesting. This Gustave Flaubert's first novel which was written when he was 21. It is rambling and difficult to follow and oftentimes you wonder "Does this novel actually have a point?" Maybe not, but it smacks of a very rough draft of Madame Bovary and for that, it is worth the read so that you can see the progression.
