Posits not only super-determinism and predestination, but true divine intervention from interludes with the Heavenly Host themselves (not ITself)...at least in the case of the folks involved. At times reads like Ondaatje without the sepia-toned nostalgia, other times like reading Escher, if Escher wrote. Dense, sprawling, but remains as an undiluted nugget in your mind long after. Apparently a film was made, hard to find, by the dude who ultimately switched the liver samples in The Fugitive. Better left unseen -- grab it and take your time.
