Wonderful little book - for children and adults alike. A great way to introduce environmental awareness to children.
At first, I found Bourdain to be crued and arrogant. I thought his writing about sex and drugs was to "shock" his readers and felt it was kinda lame. However, as I read on (and learned he developed a serious drug problem), I discovered he's more complex than I thought previously. I've laughed outloud reading this book. I've also related to the restaurant ambiance because I've been a server in a few different places. It's opened my eyes to many things consumer, also, such as NOT eating fish on Mondays and being very, very picky about my eggs benedict hollandaise. As he writes snippits about his journeys through various kitchens, he exposes a bit about himself, slowly, and it's quite engaging. Good read for anyone interested in something light but real.
